Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machine that could carry loads that are approximately 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and large, these industrial machines still bear the possible chance of crash or accident. In order to be very safe, be certain to have operators wear the right seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. People know that in case of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts can extend over the lap and across the upper body. These belts offer an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either retractable and non-retractable types.
Retractable seat belts are normally used in most modern vehicles available. Although non-retractable types increase safety, retractable types provide more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
The type of seat belt that only extends over the lower portion of the body is a two-point lap belt. Most lap belts feature a push-button closure system and are non-retractable. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the kind which force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which makes an alarm sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band types.
