Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names including: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they move cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads utilizing these equipment. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap way of moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could function in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of equipment in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
