During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed customers and thus, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, since the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new machines to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing light towers, man-lifts, articulated booms, stick booms and telehandlers.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic recession during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered with Terex. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machines.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machinery are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment needs to be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator with the advantages of a 48V DC machinery.
Compared to any of the various types of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach overall. These machinery are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to offer utmost productivity. These equipment provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
